Sold DPW Challenge :: Help Japan
As previously mentioned, I submitted the above painting to the Daily Paintworks Weekly Challenge which is raising money to 'Help Japan'. At the time of this post the challenge has raised over $17,500. This painting sold for $281 and all the money from the sale will be donated to the Red Cross to aid in Japan's recovery. I thought it summed up daily life in an urban setting as I don’t think you can walk a block these days without seeing this posture. I chose to abstract the image to prove a point on how easy it is to recognize something that is part of all our daily lives now. The reference was from a photo I had taken while in Paris in 2010.
