Of course, I took a direction that I find more interesting that just a plain representation of myself. Portraits are too boring otherwise. :)

I thought it summed up daily life in an urban setting as I don’t think you can walk a block these days without seeing this posture. I chose to abstract the image to prove a point on how easy it is to recognize something that is part of all our daily lives now.

The reference was from a photo I had taken while in Paris in 2010. We were walking down one of the many side streets in the city and I was trying to take as many candid shots as I could in hopes that I could you use them as a reference such as this.

The Kunamokst mural was unveiled last Saturday, the 13th, at the West Vancouver Spirit Square in West Vancouver.

I was unable to attend the event, but I heard it went over really well. I look forward to visiting it when it moves to Galiano Island.

The mural was a collaboration of 180 artists painting individual panels that measured 12×12" each. In total the mural is 21 x 11 feet. It must be spectacular to see in person.

An old painting I did awhile back has recently been accepted into the ‘Abstract" show with the FCA.

It took me less than an hour to block in the main aspects of the painting, but it took three days to complete it. Getting the yellow streak in the spot that just felt right took a lot of effort.

The painting represents how one voice, indicated by the yellow, in a sea of existing thinking is needed to start change.

The painting will be on display and sale at the FCA Gallery between May 5 – 17, 2009.
